[Optimus 2X Review] Fascinating HDMI Mirroring Function of the LG Optimus 2X!
As I used a smartphone for the first time, I am always surprised when I encounter new functions. One of the surprises that I’ve experienced while using the Optimus 2X was the HDMI mirroring function. I had often heard about the HDMI mirroring function, but I didn’t have the chance to actually experience it. It is when I began to use the Optimus 2X that I finally experienced the mirroring function. Now, I could enjoy all the videos and games, which I used to enjoy with a small smartphone, simultaneously with a large screen TV or monitor. I would not envy other gaming devices such as PlayStation or Xbox. Also, I don’t need any other devices for movies such as Divx player because the Optimus 2X supports many codecs. All I need to do is put movies in the phone and connect it to a HDMI socket, and then I could enjoy movies without much ado.
When I connect a TV or Monitor’s HDMI socket to the HDMI socket at the top part of the Optimus 2X, I can watch whatever on a larger screen and not the small screen on the smartphone. An HDMI cable is also a basic unit that comes with the Optimus 2X.
The unit at the top left is the HDMI cable.
I connected my smartphone to the HDMI socket of the Samsung Monitor F2380. (New monitors usually have HDMI sockets as a standard.) After connecting it, I am able to see the images on my Optimus 2X on the monitor. It is so fascinating to see everything that was on a small screen, on a bigger screen!
I can even see emails on a bigger screen.
Watching videos and pictures on a bigger screen is also an advantage.
If transferring photos to a computer is too complicated, you could see it directly from the phone using the HDMI cable. For company/professional settings where there are larger groups of people, the Optimus 2X can be connected to a projector directly to show the images on a larger screen.
It feels different to see a picture on a larger screen. The image was taken with an 8.0-mega pixel camera, so the image is clear even after magnification onto a larger screen.
I could see the internet on a larger screen. (I don’t know why the top and bottom parts are slightly cut off.) Oh, while I used 2X, I felt that the speed of web browsing was quite fast. The sites opened right away, and I thought that it was faster than 100 mega optical LAN. Maybe it is because it supports 100 mega 802.11 n?
If you hook up the Terrestrial DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting), you can watch it on a larger screen as well. Since the picture quality of the T-DMB is not so good, I don’t really recommend watching it on a larger screen, but on occasions when you don’t have a TV, it sometimes comes necessary, especially like sports.
But most of all, playing game is when the HDMI mirroring function of Optimus 2X most shines. Before, terminal units like expensive play station or Xbox 360 were required in order to enjoy games on a larger screen. Now with Optimus 2X‘s dual core, we can enjoy games on a larger screen anytime we want. Moreover, Android games have various video games, and other smartphones will also come with many games, so anticipation for HDMI Mirroring is huge.
The 4 inch screen is not so small, but playing Asphalt (a car game) on the 23-inch computer monitor reminded me that one should enjoy games on a larger screen.
I heard that the Optimus 2X is very popular, and I think that it is because of these functions. Students must be dying to have this phone because most students cannot afford to buy these expensive gaming devices. And their parents won’t buy it because the parents know that their kids won’t study. So they can enjoy playing new games with the Optimus 2X secretively in the privacy of their own room.
Like this, I can hook up the full HD as well, and I liked the fact that I could enjoy the high definition picture with clarity. Non-stop Girls’ Generation’s music video. :)
Today’s Optimus 2X’s HDMI mirroring function was first for me to experience, so I was rather impressed with its efficiency than with its surprises. If we can use more functions with an expensive smartphone, then that means its efficiency is worth more than its price. Dual core with mirroring is not only a certain individual, but for many people, so the Optimus 2X exhibits the future of smartphone, which every family can enjoy together.
If you have a LG Optimus 2X now, and then do enjoy its cool and fascinating HDMI mirroring function. :)
