Korean Firefighting Robots to Hit American Streets?
One shoots water out of a canon, has treads like a tank and can withstand 1400-degree temperatures. The other is compact, highly maneuverable and can send images from places too dangerous for humans to go.
Futuristic weapons? Nope. These are firefighting robots developed through a partnership between two Korean companies and a company based in the U.S. state of Indiana. The companies have worked together for more than two years and showed off two robots in a demonstration for city and business officials.
The robots are already being used in Korea help firefighters do their jobs more effectively and less dangerously. Both companies expressed interest in selling and possibly building robots like these in the United States.
