Optimus LTE Tag Takes NFC to New Level

Korean electronics giant LG recently announced the newest addition to its LTE smartphone family for the Korean market, the Optimus LTE Tag.

The “tag” in its name refers to the innovative new feature, called LG Tag+, which uses Near Field Communication (NFC) and specially programmed stickers or “tags” to automatically change the phone’s settings.

While NFC technology has largely been adopted for quick and easy payment services in Korea and elsewhere, it is now opening up a whole new world of options.

With the Optimus LTE Tag, for example, you could create a tag that would automatically turn on GPS and Bluetooth as you enter your car. Or you could create a tag to put your smartphone into silent mode when you get to the office.

If you had this technology on your phone, what kinds of tags would you make? Share with us in the comments!
